“Having dined in the wonderful Castlemurray restaurant for both dinner and lunch on several occasions, and never being disappointed I was delighted to learn last Summer that Afternoon Tea is served there during the Summer Months. I went with various friends on three different occasions last Summer and I can easily say it is one of the best experiences I have ever had. Just yesterday a friend and myself visited there again, and I just had to write about this memorable experience. The setting of Castlemurray restaurant is breathtaking. Afternoon tea is served in the delightful conservatory overlooking the stunning views of the Atlantic ocean and the ruins of McSwyne’ s Castle. The Afternoon tea is very reasonably priced at €30 for 2 people, and it was quite simply delightful. A selection of four different dainty sandwiches, which we could not finish, the servings were so generous, was followed by the freshest white scones with fabulous homemade jam and clotted cream, freshly baked brown scones, strawberry shortbreads, petit fours, homebaked cupcakes which were beautifully iced, and the famous Castlemurray penultimate treat……a shot glass of coffee crème brulee. The afternoon tea cake stand comes beautifully presented , ( garnished with edible fresh flowers…..The afternoon tea at Castlemurray is the ultimate Summer treat if you are touring in the Donegal Area.”
